t was difficult for any mother to send her son to war.  Like Anna Pavey, many mothers waved good-bye to more than one son.  Capt. V.K. Playford (left) was in the Army and served in France.  F I/C Percy Pavey(center) was in the Navy.  He was known as Bud - and he never returned to his mother.  Robert W. Pavey(right) followed his brother into the Navy.  He was in training at the time this article appeared in the newspaper.
