Tech Sgt. Donald C. Eby - World War II Veteran

Don’s wartime service was in the Pacific Theater.  Following the war he went to Japan as part of the Occupation Forces.

Don took advantage of the G.I. Bill and trained to become a teacher at Michigan State Normal College (now Eastern Michigan University).  In his thirty year career at Camden-Frontier, he taught physical education and biology and coached.  During some years he coached all the four major sports, although basketball was his favorite.  He was inducted into the Michigan Coaches Hall of Fame for his coaching in basketball, but the greatest accolades came from Don’s colleagues and students when they surprised him at the unveiling of the “Don Eby Gymnasium” in the Camden-Frontier school.
