Pfc. Marlin D. Robison - World War II Veteran

Marlin walked into the Post Service Battalion office in Quantico on the morning of April 30, 1945, expecting to pick up his discharge papers.  Maj. C.E. Emery called him front and center and read the following citation to the surprised Robison:  “For heroic achievement as a vehicle driver in an artillery battalion in action against enemy forces on Saipan, Marianas Island, on June 22, 1944.  After being wounded by enemy rifle fire while driving his vehicle, Pfc. Robison, without use of either leg, courageously attempted to move his vehicle and passengers from the path of enemy fire.  His heroic and conscientious devotion to duty was in keeping with the highest tradition of the United State Naval Service.”  What a discharge!
